Questions or corrections: info@7lakesproperties.com · We respond to all correction requests within 5 business days.

7 Lakes Properties publishes guides, articles, case studies, and service pages about selling a home in Michigan. This policy explains how that content is created, who reviews it, how it is kept current, and how to report inaccuracies.

Who Writes Our Content

All substantive content on 7lakesproperties.com is written or reviewed by members of the 7 Lakes Properties team with direct experience in Michigan real estate. The primary author and reviewer is Michael Johnson, Founder and Lead Buyer, who has 16+ years of residential real estate investment experience in Michigan.

Content that references Michigan law (foreclosure timelines, probate procedures, transfer tax, seller disclosure requirements) is cross-referenced against current Michigan statutes and reviewed annually. We do not provide legal advice — we describe how Michigan law works in practice based on our transactional experience. Sellers should consult a licensed Michigan real estate attorney for advice specific to their situation.

Our Editorial Standards

Accuracy Over Persuasion

We describe cash home buying — including its limitations and the situations where a traditional listing produces better outcomes for sellers — accurately. We do not omit information that would reflect negatively on our service if that information is relevant to a seller's decision.

No Invented Statistics

Transaction counts, review counts, ratings, years in business, and team size figures are updated quarterly and reflect actual figures. We do not round up, estimate high, or use "approximately" to inflate metrics. If we cannot verify a number precisely, we use a conservative figure or remove the claim.

Seller Stories Are Real

Seller profiles and case studies on this site are based on real 7 Lakes Properties transactions. Names may be changed or first-name-only at the seller's request. Dollar figures, timelines, and situation descriptions reflect actual transaction records. We do not fabricate seller scenarios.

Legal Information Is Reviewed Annually

Michigan law references (MCL citations, transfer tax rates, foreclosure timelines, probate procedures) are reviewed each January against current Michigan statutes. "Last reviewed" dates appear on pages containing legal information. If Michigan law changes mid-year, we update affected pages within 30 days of becoming aware of the change.

Corrections Are Published Promptly

If we publish inaccurate information — factual, legal, or numerical — we correct it within 5 business days of identifying the error. We do not silently edit content; significant corrections are noted with a correction notice at the bottom of the page.
